Chasys Photo

Chasys Photo is a suite of image editing applications including a layer-based image editor with adjustment layers, linked layers, timeline and frame-based animation, icon editing, image stacking and comprehensive plug-in support (Chasys Photo Editor), a fast image viewer (Chasys Photo Viewer) and a fast multi-threaded image file converter (Chasys Photo Converter) , with RAW image support in all components. It supports the native file formats of several competitors including Adobe Photoshop, Affinity Photo, ArtWeaver, Corel PhotoPaint, FireAlpaca, GIMP, Krita, Paint.NET, PaintShop Pro and Pixlr, and the whole suite is designed to make effective use of multi-core processors, touch-screens and pen-input devices.

Designed under the mantra of “unique, flexible and powerful”, Chasys Photo takes a radically different approach to image editing with the aim of opening up new possibilities for those who dare to be different.

The following changes have been made to Chasys Photo with the latest release:

Generative AI

Chasys Photo now has support for AI Image Editing and AI Image Generation! To maximize flexibility and compatibility, this is implemented via an API interface with plug-ins providing the final link to specific online or offline AI models. A plug-in for Google’s Gemini and Imagen is provided as standard.

UI and Internal Improvements

This release includes the Quality Rollup for Q3 2025 focusing on UI workflow as well as the Security Rollup for Q3 2025. The graphics engine has been updated (JpDRAW2™ v25.11), and we now have Send To Converter functionality in Windows Explorer.

Animation, EXIF, QR and TWAIN

Improvements have been made to animation rendering in Viewer, EXIF handling (additional tags and unknowns), QR code rendering (small size handling) and TWAIN scanning (reliability).

File Support and Bug Fixes

Support has been added for Sun Raster (.RAS), CALS Raster (.CALS), Aldus Placeable Metafiles (.APM) and Wireless Application Protocol Bitmaps (.WBMP). PSD support has been extended to include XMP metadata and better error handling, and support for PDF has been extended with improved compatibility and better encryption support.
Bugs that have been fixed include Network Services returning truncated data, JPEG failures on Windows XP and memory errors when saving to PDF.
